【1】目标；目的

 

①【例】We appreciate your assurance that you will do your utmost to attain this aim.

感谢你方答应将尽最大努力必达到此目的。

 

②【例】It will be our constant aim to cooperate with you successfully.

与你方成功地合作，将是我们一贯的目的。

 

【2】（人们）目的是

 

①接用at [for] sth，句式aim at [for] sth。

【例】We have to aim for efficiency in production.

我们得瞄准生产效益这一目标。

 

②at后可接用动名词，句式：aim at doing sth。

【例】We aim at developing the trade relations between our two countries.

我们的目的是发展两国的贸易关系。

 

【3】把……对准……；目的在于

 

①宾语后常接用at。

【例】We our sales pushing at the buyers of average means.

我们把推销对准一般购买能力的买主。

 

②美国英语中，aim后可不用at，而接用动词不定式。试比较：

【例】We are at expanding business relations between our two companies.（英）

=We aim to expand business relations between our two companies.（美）

我们的目的是发展两公司之间的业务关系。

②常用作定语。
