①【例】It seems your tax law is very appealing to the foreign investors and the investment environment is satisfactory.

看来，你们的税法对外国投资者很有吸引力，而且投资环境也令人满意。

 

②多接用for。

【例】The Chinese government will create a more favourable environment for the rapid and sound growth of new and high-tech ventures.

中国政府将为高新技术企业迅速、健康的发展创造更加有利的环境。

 

envisage

想象到，设想到

 

【例】We envisage great potentialities for this line of business.

我们看到这类货物的业务大有前途。

 

equal

【1】等于，比得上

 

【例】We know that cheaper models are marketed by our competitors, but we have received no suggestion that they have been able to equal our products in quality.

我们知道竞争对手在出售一些廉价的产品，然而迄今我们还不知道这些产品在质量上能否比得上我们的产品。

 

【2】相等的

 

①【例】The supplier commits himself to ship the goods in 3 equal lots in the next quarter.

供应商答应在下季度内将货物分成数量相等的三批装运。

 

②若表示“与……相等”时，应为equal to sth。

【例】The quality is equal to that of earlier consignments.

该货质量与前几批货物质量相同。

 

③equal（还有perfect，impossible，final等）是绝对形容词（absolute word），从逻辑上讲不应有比较级或用程度副词（intensifier）修饰。
